The Gold Standard of Grants Training

There’s a place for brown-bag luncheons, half-day workshops, and two-day classes (we offer that last one). But if you want the comprehensive, in-depth experience that gives you a solid grasp on the world of grants, in only five action-packed days, you want the Grantsmanship Training Program.

What you learn so you excel at grant proposal writing

During this training, you learn how to:

  • Use our proven proposal model—a model so successful that many funders have adopted it for their application guidelines
  • Collaborate with others to create a strong grant application
  • Use a variety of research tools to pinpoint the funders most likely to support and partner with your organization
  • Review proposals the way funders do so you’ll understand what works and why
  • Demonstrate your organization's capacity and credibility
  • Develop a data driven description of the problem your program addresses
  • Propose outcomes that are measurable and that can be evaluated
  • Practice the art and ethics of grantsmanship
  • Learn more about what you'll do during this training.
I have taken many courses over the years, but your training was the best week I ever spent in a classroom.

Why this training makes grant proposal writing comes alive

The Grantsmanship Training Program® pioneered the Listen & Discuss, Do & Review® curriculum — the most effective approach for adult learners. Our training uses hands-on exercises so that you retain what you learn.

You leave the training with a copy of each proposal created and reviewed in class, a workbook of proposal components for your own organization, a network of colleagues to contact, and six months of follow-up support from the Center via our Membership Program.

Our alumni have a track record of proven success

The 140,000+ graduates of this training have gone on to win billions of grant dollars for vital programs. Many nonprofit leaders point to this training as a key to their success. An ongoing, independent evaluation funded by top foundations in Los Angeles County proves that the Grantsmanship Training Program® delivers a solid return on time and money invested.

Before the Grantsmanship Training Program®, I wrote proposals with my heart—results were disappointing. This training gave me the tools to also write with my head. I went from zero funds raised to grants totaling $2 million over the next four years.
