Sponsoring Training Programs

Build Capacity—Win More Grants, Create Earned Income

When you need to build capacity for grant proposal development or social enterprise, sponsoring one of The Grantsmanship Center's training programs is a proven and cost-effective way. Whether it's for your organization's staff or another target group, sponsoring our training will:

  • increase and hone your group's skills and knowledge
  • strengthen the effectiveness of people working on the same issue. Law enforcement groups, substance abuse prevention groups, migrant health organizations, and many others sponsor our programs.
  • increase collaboration among people working within a specific city, geographic area or topic area
  • help a group of applicants respond most competitively to a particular Request for Proposal (RFP)

Organizations of all sorts partner with The Grantsmanship Center as training sponsors — universities, foundations, hospitals, government agencies, coalitions of organizations, community development collaboratives, community-based nonprofits, and more.

Our Alumni Receive Unequaled Follow-Up Support

Depending on which of our training programs your organization sponsors, graduates will receive either one year of Full Member benefits, or six months of Associate Member benefits, in the Grantsmanship Center's Membership Program. Benefits provide an array of supports including access to Grantdomain, the Center's user-friendly, continually updated databases of foundation, corporation, and government grantmakers.

We'll Help You Every Step of the Way

The Grantsmanship Center trainers and staff work in partnership with staff at sponsoring organizations. We'll help you select the most appropriate training program, put class logistics into place, provide information to participants, and much more.

The Center's trainer will connect with you well in advance of the class to discuss what you need the training to accomplish and to learn about any special challenges or demands of the group who will be trained. Depending on the needs of your group, the Center may tailor our training materials or develop specialized exercises for maximum effectiveness.

And when the training is complete, we'll provide you with a brief report of feedback from participants to assist with your internal evaluation of the event.

How Sponsoring Works

Sponsoring organizations provide:

  • payment for the training—a fixed fee, lower per person cost than regular tuition
  • an appropriate facility
  • logistical supports, including refreshments, supplies, photo copying, and equipment

We provide an expert trainer eager to help your group get maximum benefit from the time they invest in training. We also clearly lay out the details of sponsoring so you won't have any surprises, and so we can help you address any challenges.

In addition to a dedicated training tailored to your specific needs, your organization will also receive two-years of no-cost Full Member benefits in The Grantsmanship Center’s Membership Program for a staff member who did not attend the training. The only benefit the designated staff member will not receive is a proposal review—that benefit is only offered to those who complete a qualifying training.

We'd enjoy speaking with you, explaining the ins-and-outs of sponsoring, and exploring a partnership with your organization.
