Caleb Herod, Director of Income & Assets, The Chicago Community Trust, Chicago, IL
For over 100 years, the Chicago Community Trust has been a platform for change to connect philanthropy to impact. Their vision is a Chicago region where equity is central - and opportunity and prosperity are in reach for all. Their work focuses on household wealth gaps, community development, collective power to amplify resident voices, policy change for systemic change, and critical needs for immediate relief.
Caleb Herod manages efforts to support educational attainment, workforce development, and building inclusive business practices in the Chicago region. Caleb also co-manages the Bridges to Brighter Futures funding initiative with the Kinship Foundation.
Caleb is an experienced educator, project manager, and policy advocate. Originally from Mississippi, Caleb worked as project manager for Extended Learning Initiatives at the Delta Health Alliance before moving to Chicago.
Caleb holds a bachelor’s in public policy leadership from the University of Mississippi and a master’s in public policy from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy with a concentration in municipal finance and policy analysis.
Sandi Vidal, VP of Community Services & Initiatives, Central Florida Foundation, Orlando, FL
Operating since 1994, The Central Florida Foundation specializes in high-impact philanthropy that includes innovative and creative approaches, concierge-level fundholder services, professional grantmaking services, and cross-sector collaborations. As a trusted convener, CFF also serves as a neutral facilitator and guide for community initiatives including access to attainable housing, high-quality healthcare, and promoting strong pathways to education.
Sandi Vidal has more than 25 years of business management experience and over 20 years in nonprofit leadership. She is known for turning big ideas into meaningful community impact. A graduate of the University of Miami School of Business, Sandi is a passionate advocate and public speaker focused on solutions to complex social issues. She serves on the Nominating Committee for the League of Women Voters of Orange County, the Board of ProNet, and several community task forces. She also leads an international cohort of foundations advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and is helping shape a roadmap for a healthier, thriving community.
Angela Richardson, Senior Trainer, The Grantsmanship Center
Angela brings more than 20 years' experience as a nonprofit program and fund developer, strategic planner, and organizational coach. As senior trainer, Angela has coached other trainers for The Grantsmanship Center and trained staff for nonprofit organizations, school districts, governments, faith-based organizations, and colleges and universities. She brings additional expertise in education and the arts, recently delivering a virtual workshop for Broward County Cultural Division, FL as part of the Business Skills for Creatives series. Angela has facilitated many in-person Meet-the-Grantmaker panels in Los Angeles for PROJECT GRANTSMANSHIP and for the City of Los Angles, city council members. Recently, Angela trained faculty and community-based nonprofit leaders as part of a Research Proposal Workshop sponsored by UCLA Health Sciences.
