What is RSS?
RSS (or "Really Simple Syndication") is a family of web feed formats allowing websites to publish frequently updated content. Users can subscribe to RSS feeds and instantly receive the titles, summaries and links to any new content syndicated by the RSS publisher.
More information about RSS can be found at Wikipedia.
What do I need to use RSS?
To subscribe to a RSS feed you need a program called a feed 'reader' or 'aggregator'. There are many free 'readers' available, and some of the newer browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 7.0, have RSS readers already embedded so that you don't need additional software. There are also web-based readers available from websites such as Yahoo! and Google.
Once you have a RSS reader installed, you must tell it which feed to check for new content. The method of subscribing varies for each reader, so check the instructions of your reader to see how to add new feeds.
